Yesterday our secondary students participated in the annual Swimming Carnival. The day was a huge success, with students and staff alike showing their house spirit. Blue, red, gold and green dressed students competed in the House Chant before taking to the shallows for some novelty events. Afterwards, our 50m stroke events and relays saw great efforts and encouragement from the side lines. The day was capped off with the ‘Big Splash’. Londonderry took out the Spirit Cup award this year in a close competition, whilst Deborah house were named the overall winners, also in close contention with the remaining houses.
“The swimming carnival turned out amazing, it was great to see everyone participating and having fun. It was definitely a tough competition as all the houses tried their best. Congratulations to Londonderry for winning the Spirit Cup, it was definitely deserved. Thank you to all the teachers who were there on the day helping organise the students and all the events, none of this could have happened without the teachers. And a huge thank you Mr Diedricks and Mr Rayson for organising and running the events.” – Shania S, Deborah house captain.
